Tommorow is back to school for all NYC kids. Stop by your local library after school to get a jump start on those homework assignments.

Staff will be waiting with open arms. :-)

History was made last Friday at the Dongan Hills Library as we had unprecedented amount young adults who showed up in force to attend our Teen Summer Reading Celebration. Never has there been that many in this age group to show up for our program. Many turned out for the program just to see the movie. Participants got their prizes, certificates and one LUCKY winner walked away with a raffled Apple iPod Touch. I’d say this year’s teen summer reading party was a smashing success! Let’s hope this is a start of a new trend here at this branch.

Yesterday’s celebration was a total blast. The local kids had a wonderful time watching Peter Pan (thank you The Traveling Lantern Theatre Company) it was a joy to hear such laughter coming from the crowd. After the performance everyone helped themselves to the snacks and refreshments.  And as the party was winding down staff gave away the certificates and prizes to the summer reading participant. Topping things off one LUCKY participant was the recipient of the grand prize raffle giveaway… an Apple iPod Touch!  

Again congratulations to all that took part in this year summer reading program… hope to see everyone here again next year.
